The Gift and Power of the Holy Ghost


Who is the Holy Ghost?

  • He is hte Comforter (John 14:26)

To whom is the Holy Ghost given to?

  • "And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him." (Acts 5:32, see also D&C 76:114-116)

Worthiness and the Holy Ghost

  • “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God; and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Cor. 3:16; see aslso 1 Cor.6:19)

How is the Gift of the Holy Ghost given?

Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost is necessary for salvation

  • “repent and be baptized...and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:37-38)
  • “For the gate by which ye shall enter is repentance and baptism by water; and then cometh a remission of your sins by fire and by the Holy Ghost.” (2 Nephi 31:17)

Power of the Holy Ghost
