Consider the following analogy:

  • Salesman – fast and swift. Compares the pro/cons. None-caring. Occasionaly boastful.
  • Doctor – very knowledgable. Analysis, identifies problem and fixes it. Builds a certain amount of trust with his patient.
  • Healer – such as Jesus, shares burden, listens, a true friend, has complete trust, willing to serve and compssionate, talks heart to heart.

Too often we go about talking to people in a rote way like robots or businessman, when really, we should be healers like Jesus, serving with a full heart that is sincere, loving every single individual that we talk to. A new missionary may start to be a salesman, but over time he/she will have to try his/her best to become a healer.
